Default Menu bar is missing otlook express 6

Easy way out even if it is not the cause, but it well could be.

You may have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main
Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it.
If all is well, you can import your messages from the old identity and
delete it.

My menu bar has totally disappeared.

Thank you for your answer but when I drag down the vertical lines of
dots,
I
see:
toolbar and views bar but not the menu bar 9File- Edit- view- tools-
message- help).
Any idea how to restore this?
Thank you

Are you sure it is not hiding at the end of one of the rows as Frank
suggests?
Try right click at the top and disable toolbar and views bar. Does it
show
now?

If I am reading between the lines correctly, I believe the OP is referring
to the Menu Bar.

You can try this solution and see if it fixes the problem:

First shut down all running programs.

Run regedit and do a search for the word "filemenu" w/o quotes.

If you find a value called Nofilemenu under this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer

NoFileMenu 01 00 00 00

Change the value of NoFileMenu to 0 and then reboot.

In case you have no experience in working in the registry, make sure you
back up. Below are some links about working in the registry:

On the left end of the toolbar is a vertical line of dots. Grab it with
the
mouse and drag it down.

Did you try the following?

Try pressing Alt, F or Alt E or Alt T or Alt M or Alt H -----? Those
commands should open the various menu items, If they still exist? :-)

Have you tried a reboot?
