Default POP settings for gmail

I'm having a problem with the POP settings and the port settings remaining as
configured. Whenever I start the computer and open OLE, the gmail settlings
revert back to some number in the POP field, and some other port numbers. I
have to go into Tools and reset the pop field and default port settings each
time. This is getting annoyning. Please tell me there's an Easy Button to
fix this? PS - all setting in gmail itself are fine - followed the gmail
auto format and everything.
