... The security tab in tool|optionsget digital ID; is giving http error 404. Where do we get digital ID? You can get free e-mail certs from Thawte (who got bought by Verisign). When you first get them, the only identification provided within your cert (the public key that you give to others) is your e-mail address because that was the only piece of info that could be verified at the time. They have their Web of Trust (WOB) scheme to use their "notaries" to increse the amount of info in your cert. I believe the freemail certs are good for one year, then you just go get another one (or do so beforehand and void the old one). -- __________________________________________________ Post replies to the newsgroup. I had a cert from Thawte a couple of years and isps ago. When I returned
recently to get another I got caught up in their [we have another similar person] thing of which I explained this to them and gave a hotmail address. It may have been the same address they had! I still have the ticket# and am waiting to here back, but nothing for a week now. "Vanguard" wrote in message ... "Jim" wrote in message ...
