Default No activity display in status bar

I have 2 computers. 1 is new. Windows XP Media Edition the other Windows XP
Home Edition. Both have IE latest upgrades and Windows Updates have been
installed. On my old computer when you manually check to see if you have
messages in the bottom status bar far right hand box it will display its
activity, such as connecting..., no new messages or 4 messages. The new
computer shows nothing in that same box when I click on Receive All or Send
and Receive All. My husband likes that feature and wants to know where it
went. Any ideas?

In Outlook Express, click on the menu item, View/Layout and make sure there
is a check in the box for Status Bar which will appear at the bottom of the
screen and show that information.
