Default Can't save calendar items

I have Outlook 2003 installed on my computer and when I try to save a
calendar entry I get the message "Could not save item". Does anyone have any
suggestions as to how to unlock my calendar?

Thanks

First thing I would try is to clean up the forms cache.

To do so, follow these steps:
1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Other tab, and then click Advanced Options.
3. Click Custom Forms.
4. Click Manage Forms.
5. Click Clear Cache.
6. Close all open windows, and then restart Outlook.

If the above does not work, try the following.

Deleting the Forms Cache File:
The Frmcache.dat file is the primary file to delete. The Frmcache.dat
file serves as an index of the individual forms that have been cached
on the computer. Use the following steps to manually delete the
Frmcache.dat file. In addition, these steps delete all of the cached
forms on your computer, which are stored in subfolders of the
Forms folder.

1.. Quit Outlook.
2.. Search the Hard drive (F3) to locate the Frmcache.dat file.
(Be sure to check in HIDDEN files on W2K or WXP.)
3.. Delete all that are found from the FIND window.
4.. Open Outlook.

When you restart Outlook, and use a form, the forms cache
is re-created.

The second option (deleting Frmcache.dat file) worked for me. But I needed to
restart the computer, not only Outlook.

Default Can't save calendar items

Nikki, I have the same problem but with Outlook 2007, used with Vista and
Exchange 2007 in Cached Mode. It started about a week ago and as far as I
know I didn't do anything to cause it.

If I try to create a Calendar item when Outlook is online, the new item
always disappears and I get this error message:

Could not save item. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable.
Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

The only way I can create a new Calendar item is to go Offline, create the
item, then go back online.

I also can't create a Task or Contact while online. Email works fine.

I tried the fix process you described here (clearing the forms cache and
deleting Frmcache.dat) then restarting my PC, but to no effect.

Do you have any suggestions? I'm surprised that I can't find any references
to this problem on the web for Outlook 2007.

Thanks,
Garland

Thanks, Diane.

I just tried that now and it had no effect on the problem. (In Custom View
Organizer, I selectd Current View Settings and clicked on Reset.)

I also tried starting Outlook in safe mode, and this too had no effect.

I found the solution:

Log into the email domain's Control Panel page on the Exchange 2007 server

Go to Configuration & Administration Exchange Mailboxes your_mailbox

Click on Edit

Change "Show in address book" to Yes

Diane, thanks for your help.
