I need to add one person to a meeting, but would prefer to just send the
invitation to him rather than sending an update to the entire group. Is this possible, and if so, how does one do that? Thanks! |

Add the person, select the option to send, and you will be given the option to only send to the updated person.

Usually, when I add a person to a meeting invite after the initial one has
gone out, the only way to get teh option to send 'only to added or deleted' is to do a 'save and close' to get the prompt. too often lately I do not get this option and to add the new person, I have to send the meeitn invite out to everyone. It sounds pretty buggy to me. This is even worse when adding someone when a request is accepted to change the meeting time by one of the invitees. When they respond, the meeting tracking is NOT updated. I have a person who tried to follow this (I did it successfully on my computer) on his computer and he does not get the window that gives the option of whether to send it to everyone or just the added attendees. If that window doesn't appear, how do you get it to appear? I could not find a setting anywhere under Tools Options, which is where I would have expected to find it.

What version of Outlook? Are all updates installed?
What addins does he have installed? There was a bug in Outlook 2007 with the old Live Maps addin that caused this sort of behavior. I have Outlook 2003 SP3 that is "part of the Microsoft Office Professional
Edition 2003." The planner I updated with 2 new attendees sent itself as an update to the 86 attendees on the original planner, in addition to 2 new attendees. I followed the proper steps; was prompted to "send to added or deleted attendees," or to "send to all attendees." I confirmed the added or deleted attendees option was selected, yet the planner went out to all. It happened 2 more times when I added a couple more people in each instance. Some troubleshooting that has been explored: My IT dept confirmed that all patches have been installed; Live Search Maps Add-in is not installed. I have the Communicator 2007 Add-in. IT considered it a possibility but also said all patches have been installed. The IT dept has received trouble calls for the same issue but could not resolve it, but confirmed there ARE still bugs in the calendar updates. IT pointed out one commonality with mine and another user's issue -- that we used a distribution list in the Attendees line, but expanded it before sending the original planner. However, IT said that once the DL is expanded, it is the same as having entered each Attendee individually. What is the root of this problem, and what can be done to fix it?
