Outlook recurrence pattern not available in Windows Mobile?

I have several recurring appointments that occur on the first Sunday
of the month, for example. If I set up a recurring appointment in
Outlook this way, then when it synchronizes to my Windows Mobile 5
smartphone (Pantech PN820) then the recurrence instead says something
like "Day 2 of every month." Well obviously, day 2 is not always a
Sunday, so it ends up being wrong after the first month. My only
options a
Day 2 of every month
Every March 2
Once
Every Sunday

What gives? Is there a workaround to actually set up a recurrence
like this, other than adding the appointments individually?

It is not an Outlook issue but an issue with how the phone software handles recurrances. If this is activesync, then microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync or microsoft.public.smartphones would be the place to post this question.

I am using ActiveSync 4.5. I would think that it is more a matter of
the Phone OS not supporting this type of recurrence, not ActiveSync or
the phone itself. It just seems silly that Microsoft would develop a
OS for the phone (Windows Mobile Smartphone - I'll have to look to get
the exact edition, but I just updated the phone with the latest
available for it) that wouldn't support this recurrence pattern.

Don't you have an Edit Pattern entry at the bottom of that Windows Mobile
recurrence drop-down that supports what you want? Windows Mobile 4 sure
does.

As mentioned in my first post, yes I do have a drop down, and no it
does not have the option that I want. The options a
Day 2 of every month
Every March 2
Once
Every Sunday

The issue is that there is no "1st Sunday of Every Month" like there
is in Outlook, and like there is in Windows Mobile 5.0 (for PocketPC
devices - NOT smartphones). Honestly, how many monthly appointments
do you have that occur on the same day every month? It's almost
always "The 2nd Tuesday of Every Month" or something like that.

I guess microsoft.public.smartphones would be the more appropriate
place to pose this question, so I will ask it there.
I guess I am trying to verify if indeed Windows Mobile 5.0 for
Smartphone simply does not include this recurrence pattern, and if
not, is there a workaround short of setting every meeting up
individually?

Microsoft provides cell phone manufacturers with the basic OS and they customize it for their phones. Some features exist on some phones but not on others - it is entirely up to the cell phone manufacturer.

You'll have to ask in a Windows Mobile group for that information.

The Motorola Q doesn't have it either...I'm leaning towards this
feature simply being absent from Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphones.
