I have a client with Office 2003 Professional. He tells me that whenever he
creates a calendar item, it is always by default a recurring item. How can I
remove the default recurring option?

Is this a new Dell? If yes, then go to control panel-add/remove programs and remove the outlookaddinsetup program.
