Why does an appointment go to some attendees in a text format ?

I set up a meeting and invite a number of attendees that are all on the same
network. Some of the attendees receive a RTF invitation and others receive a
text formated document.
Any idea why ??
The versions of outlook are 2000 and 2003

Do you have the recipients tagged differently? You can set a contact to
receive RTF or not in their address properties
