How do I remove a private appointment in Outlook?

I have accidently made an appointment private and now I can't remove it from
the calendar. Does anyone know how to do this?

The Delete button works.

What haven't you told us......

Who's Calendar did you make it in?
What happens when you try to delete it?
What else did you do between making the meeting and trying to delete it?
