I am unable to open existing or create new events within calendar

I am currently unable to open existing or create new events within Outlook
calendar. I did not have a problem with this yesterday.

I get no response when I click File - New - Appointment within Oulook.

I would appreciate your guidance on how I can add appointments to the
calendar.
