How do I import an excel file into Outlook Calendar?

I am trying to import an excel file into Outlook Calendar so that I can keep
room reservations from overlapping. I have exported part of the calendar to
excel to see how I need to format it, but when I go to import the excel file,
it says that too many fields are defined. I have tried looking in the help
section of both excel and outlook and can find nothing.

What are the steps to import an excel file into Outlook Calendar? Help
would be greatly appreciated!

The required fields are Subject, Start and End. So the basic procedure would be to create a worksheet with a column for each of those fields and a row for each appointment. If you want to add other fields, feel free. (We don't know what your existing data looks like.)

When you have finished creating the worksheet, use the Insert | Range | Define to define a named range that covers the entire data area, including the column headings row. Save the worksheet.

You should now be able to use the File | IMport and Export command in Outlook read in the data from the worksheet's range. Don't skip the Map Custom Fields step.
