Default Appointment Setup Issue - Too Weird

When I set up an appointment in Calendar, the future date & time I chose
reflects back to the day and time I physically wrote the note. For example,
today is June 20. If I go out to July 10 in Calendar, and make an appt. for
3:00PM and confirm it, that appt. date & time refers back to the time I wrote
the appt. on June 20. I can open the appt. afterwards and physically change
the date and time back to July 10 @ 3:00PM. But it will still never show up
in Calendar under July 10. It will remain underdate & time I originally wrote
up the appointment. Thank you in advance. I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2003 SP2
