Microsoft Outlook email - Outlook will not let me add appointments, nothing happens now

Outlook will not let me add appointments, nothing happens now

I can no longer add apointments to my calender. When I try to add an
appointment after hitting "new appointments' nothing happens. Also the dates
use to be in bold when I had an appointment on that date and now they are
just that same.

Help!!
