Replace Task Status Enumeration
 

Is there any way to replace the built-in status enumerations in Outlook? The
project I'm working on provides a dynamic status list for each task. Using
VS2008 & Outlook 2007, I have been able to build my add-in and provide a
custom form for the Task Inspector. My major concern is for supporting the
user's ability to add the "status" field to the explorer pane. Is there any
example code for trapping the built-in status & replacing it for my custom
one?

Not possible. You can create your own UserProperty to hold your enumeration
and that could be displayed in the view if desired.

Thank you for the reply. I was afraid that was the case.
I currently store the enumeration value names and the current value in
string type UserProperties. On Add, the new status property is set to "true"
to make the property visible to the folder, but the property name does not
appear on any of the selection lists. What am I missing?

What selection lists? You mean the Field Chooser? Just set it to show user
defined fields in the folder. If the property was added correctly that will
show it.
