Good to know. Were you using Outlook 2003?

Thanks Russ, that code worked and saved me hours!

You can't. Importing Contacts never restores them, nor do your settings

File As... or other fields get applied.
You should restore from a backup of your PST file by copying the data
from
it. Never import.
You can only change the File As... field for existing Contacts by running
code or editing each individually.

In an effort to switch from the old style *.pst to the new style,
somewhere
along the line I lost my contacts and calendar. However, I imported
them
back from my Palm Pilot. However, every contact now shows only the
name,
not
the company name. I have to open each one, drop down the "File As"
box,
and
switch the display to Company, last name, first name format.
I went into Tools, Options, contact options, and checked to make sure
that
the default setting for new contacts was Company (last, first).
However,
this
doesn't change the current contacts. Any thoughts on how to change the
existing contacts without re-opening each one?
Thanks!
