Default Importing

Importing is never the correct way to transfer Outlook data. You should
simply copy your Outlook data file and open it in the other installation.
State how you created and transported this PST file. You may have corrupted
it by exporting it.

Good day

I have a problem transfering my files from an old computer with Outlook
2003, escpecially the contacts folder. In outlook express you would the
files
across, with outlook 2003 it is not that simple.

Tried importing .pst files (as I understand that this is where all the
contacts are), telling it to import personal folder .pst from
drive:/documents/user/application data/microsoft/outlook, the old folder
from
the previous pc has a Outlook folder with the office 2003 icon but it
doesn't
recognise this as being a personal folder, have to use file type all files
but still won't accept it as being a personal folder. tried adding .pst at
the end of the file name, still inserts nk2 or some other extension.

The old pc was on the same domain as the new one, have taken ownership on
the security settings & allowed full control, also removed the read only
setting on the outlook folder under microsoft in application data

Please advise

Thanks
