Default Combine "Mailbox" and "Personal Folers"

Am I correct that the Personal Folders and the .pst file are both
needed for the POP3 account?

Personal Folders ARE a PST, usually. When they're on an Exchange server,
they're usually named "Mailbox - person's name" or "person's name".

When you use an Exchange mailbox as the delivery location, a PST is not
required, even if you have POP accounts in the mail profile. All POP
account messages will be delivered to the Exchange mailbox, even if you have
more than one POP account. Both Exchange and the POP accounts always share
the delivery location.

Some of us use PSTs even when we don't have POP accounts. For example,
where I work we have a 50 MB limit on our Exchange mailboxes, so I have a
PST (i.e., Personal Folders) into which I file messages as I deal with them.
All my other Outlook data (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, etc.) remain in the
mailbox, but since my email is the largest part of my Outlook data, I keep
that in a PST.
