Default how to increase # of results from "Check Names" in new message

While not in play in this post, there is some autoresolution data stored in
the NK2 file, too. The information that allows Outlook to put a green dash
or red squiggle under names you have manually resolved in the past is stored
there, too. Hardly anyone sees that anymore because autocompletion always
supersedes autoresolution, but it's still there. The guys at Ingressor
didn't believe me at first until I made them do a more thorough autopsy on
an NK2 file, and sure enough, there it was, just like in the days of NICK
(NK2 files and NICK files are essentially the same thing).

The original poster's question related not to the autocomplete list but to
the dialog that appears when the user invokes Check Names. The autocomplete
list stored in the .nk2 file is *not* used in name resolution, only for
autocomplete.

Hi,

Outlook maintains a nickname list that is used by both the automatic name
checking and the automatic completion features. The nickname list is
automatically generated while you use Outlook. If the nickname cache is
corrupted, Outlook may not be able to identify recipients, may offer
incorrect recipients when automatically completing the e-mail address, or
may
send the message to the wrong person.

Can you explain the logic that is hard-coded so I can explain to the user
WHY
it only returns a certain number of results?

The behavior of that dialog is hard coded and can't be changed.
