Where do messages go?
Vaguard,
Yes, thanks, that's exactly what I mean. Of course if I had dropped messages
into a regular folder, there wouldn't have been nearly the mystery.
Your solution worked perfectly. Thanks very much.

I inadvertently dragged a group of messages and dropped them on the
Personal Folders line of my Outlook. Now I cannot find those messages.
They don't seem to be in any of the folders under Personal Folders.
So when you move messages to Personal Folders, where do they go? Is it
possible to retrieve them?
If you mean that you dragged the items onto the root node of the message
store (usually labelled "Outlook Today - Personal Folders"), the items
won't display because that is supposed to be a holding folder for the
other tree nodes of various types (e-mail, contact, journal, notes). The
view on that folder won't show mail items because it was defined as an
mail-type folder.
Right-click on the root node, Properties, Home Page, and disable using an
HTML page to display in the right-side pane. Maybe that will then let you
see the mail items you dragged into that folder.
