Ctrl+Alt+S for the settings dialog or do you mean the progress dialog, not
details? Once you get it up, pin it open (lower right corner). You can
pop it up using the status link in the right of the status bar.

Why won't the send/receive details windows make an appearance unless I
bang on the send/receive button a couple times and then it goes through
