If you have been using custom forms, you should have more in that folder than those two files. Make sure that Windows Explorer is set to show hidden and system files and folders.
Still looking for your answer to my question about the form setting for the Forward action. It should be set to use the same published form, not the standard Message form.

Okay thanks sue, I can't however find a frmcache.dat on my PC, can you tell
me exactly which directory the forms are held in? I did a default install.

That's not what I was suggesting. I was suggesting that you completely clear the *local* cache. The command in Outlook just deletes the Frmcache.dat file. To completely clear the cache, you also need to delete all the subfolders in the Forms folder where Frmcache.dat is also located.

I cleared the forms cache as suggested, not sure how I go about deleting all
the forms on an exchange server and I doubt our exchange team would let us.

Did you delete everything in the Forms folder?

After trying all suggested I still have this problem, is there any resolution
available yet?

Last post did not accept I think hope I'm not double posting. Sue I have
eventually got a local copy of outlook 2007 installed locally on my pc, the
forward option in actions is there and set to respect users default, I have
looked at the link you sent for clearing the cache but the instructions on
the link seem to be out of date and not relevant to outlook 2007 as I cannot
find Frmcache.dat.
prior to the error message I caught a quick flash of a progress bar saying
"copying form to your (something, not sure what, as it displayed fast and now
I no longer see the message and only get the messaging interface error)"

The forward issue is extremely relevant. Check it in your form design, on the (Actions) page.
As for the forms cache, see http://www.outlookcode.com/d/formscache.htm

The form is posted in our "Organizational Forms Library". I'm using the
forward button on the tool bar, not a forward button built into the form. I
am unsure how I would clear the forms cache.

Where is the form published? Is the Forward action set up to use the published form? Did you try clearing the forms cache?

Some FOrms that we have on microsoft exchange work fine via outlook 2003.
however we're now evaluating wether we sould upgrade to Outlook 2007 and when
trying to forward a form we get the following message "the messaging
interface has returned an unknown error"
