Emails access to one account on two computers
Hi David
The problem with pop3 mail, as you probably know, is that one downloaded the
mail is deleted from the said mail server. That is unless you tell outlook
not to delete the mail
(Tools-Accounts-got to the properties for your mail account-Advanced
tab-Youll see "leave a copy of messages on server" near the bottom. Theres
a a couple other things you can play around with there.).
The problem with that is if you were to click send/recieve on the same pc
again all the mail youve just downloaded comes down again. So one solution
you can employ is to set of of those pcs to download the mail and leave the
mail on the server while the other is set to download then delete that mail.
Obviously if you want the mail on both systems youll have download the mail
on the 1st pc then the 2nd(If you do it the other way around youlll get the
mail on the second pc but not the first.)
The second possible solution can only work if you haveyour two PC's on a
little network. I have seen OE setup in such a way so that one pc downloads
the mail...the second has its mail store location set to the same location as
the 1st pc, thus both see the same mail. Ive not actualy set this up myself
but it is possible.
Hope this help you.

I posted recently about access to emails via OE for multiple Windows users
on a single computer.
The practical setting is a small charity (with four users sharing one
computer) but the decision has been made to have a second computer with a
separate user. Can all emails for a single email address be accessed on both
computers, so that the user on the second computer, who will be the manager,
can read, respond to and delete emails opened on the first computer? Again,
if possible, how please?
