I too think my question is not clear. I have two computers with MSOffice
(maybe Outlook, but not intentionally or used) installed on which I want the
same address book. One is at home and other is the office, both have
different names. The sites mentioned do not address my problem since I do
not want to have multiple books or change the location on the same computer.
Just ran wab /a on my home computer and it shows wife, mine and default.
Want to copy mine and take to the office and install/import. Do I need to
delete wife and default addresses first before I copy, since I must be
sharing them when others log on the computer or change OE person?
If I do delete the contacts will my wife still be able to have her own
address book?

First, you need to understand that contacts are "keyed" to specific
identities. To see all the entries in an address book, open the Address
Book from the Start/Run line by typing: WAB /a
This will show all contacts including those in Folders and Groups.
Folders and Groups will neither export nor import. Only the contacts in
the Shared Contacts folders can be exported and then imported.
Additionally for each identity you may have created, you will have to
alter the registry to show the location of the Address Book that you wish
to be used at this location for each specific GUID (big, long number for
each specific identity):
Close OE and the address book. Run regedit.exe and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name
Right-click on (Default) in the right-hand pane and enter your new path to
the *.wab file. Close Regedit and open OE to use the new *.wab
immediately.
All of this is explained at the site pointed out to you earlier (which you
say you've read) but obviously, some of its points have escaped your
attention in a hasty read. Please review it in some detail and post back
if you have questions not explained at the website. Also, if you have
Outlook installed (which you have not answered) and are sharing contacts
with that program, all contact information is stored in Outlook's PST file
and changes you make to the address book are not reflected in any copy you
may save or attempt to use.

I already visited these sites. I do not have the problem of not finding my
address books or wanting to move it somewhere else on my computer.
I am trying to import and can not do it without redundant addresses which
have been deleted or changed some time ago. I deleted office.wab and
office.wa~ files but they still come back after importing home.wab. Where
are they coming from?

Have computer at home and work and would like to have same
OE6.00.2900.2980 address book on each. Recently I deleted some
people/addresses on my home computer and copied the home.wab file to it
on work computer. Deleted all files in the work.wab and then imported
home.wab into work.wab, but now shows the deleted address files and
some
redundant addresses that were either changed or deleted some time ago.
Then I tried to delete office.wab and wa~ files and change the name of
home.wab to office.wab. When I opened office.wab there were no
addresses
there, even when I viewed shared folders too.
How do I successfully move an address book to a computer and get the
new
computer to read it correctly as my default address book?
