There several ways to access pst data files and checge password - for
instance, I do just as described he

On the File menu, click Data File Management.
On the Data Files tab, click the Personal Folders file (.pst) for
which you want to change the password, and then click Settings.
Click Change Password, and then type both your old and new passwords.
In the Verify password text box, type your new password again, and
then click OK.
But I don't care about changing password, the big problem for me is
that I cannot save it. Every time I start Outlook it asks me for
password, and offers me to save it in the password list. This doesn't
work! Every time I check this box, and every time I start Outlook it
asks me for password again.

can change it and have it revert. Describe the steps you take to change it.
