Just to make the answer more complete (I could not delete the previous post)

I'm experiencing the same problem, the Outlook 2007 error is: 0x800CCC0E.
I've tested this on Vista, all clients (Outlook 2003, Outlook Express, the
new Windows Mail in Vista) work OK, but only in Outlook 2007 the error is
generated.

Outlook 2007 only has a problem receiving mail, sending is OK that's why the
test
message is generated and delivered in Outlook 2003

I cannot imagine this is a problem at the mail provider, since all other
clients work without problems.

I've performed tests with and without both the firewall and Virus scanning
software.

So I'm also trying to find a solution for this (other than not using IMAP..)
